OUR HISTORY
Following the first collective meeting of Illawarra Women’s and Illawarra District (Men’s) Hockey Associations in 1984, Illawarra Hockey Inc. (IHI) was established in 1989 by with the formation of a “joint management committee” to progress the plans for development of the Illawarra Hockey Stadium (Stage 2) and future plans for two water based synthetic surfaces (Stage 3) at Lindsay Maynes Park, Unanderra.
It was agreed that this undertaking needed to be managed outside of the entities managing hockey competitions due to the enormity of the task and the required business approach for it to be successful.
